Solar flares are large electromagnetic radiation eruptions from the Sun which last from minutes to hours. The unexpected explosion of electromagnetic energy moves at the speed of light, and the reaction happens at the same time as the phenomenon is detected on the sunlit side of the transparent outer atmosphere of Earth.
