The most important factor was British imperialism which contributed to the rise of nationalism in India.The Nationalist Movements in India were organized as mass movements which emphasized and raised questions about the interests of the Indian people. People were encouraged to take action in most of those campaigns themselves. Both movements have failed to gain independence for India because of several reasons. They did, however, foster a sense of nationalism among the country's people.These movements ' failure affected many people as they withdrew from offices, schools, factories, and facilities of government. While they managed to get a few concessions like those won by the Salt March in 1930, they did not help India much in terms of their goal.
