Muhammad Iqbal (November 9, 1877-April 21, 1938), widely known as Allama Iqbal, was a poet, philosopher and politician, as well as a British India academic, barrister and scholar who is widely considered to have inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is named "Pakistan's Spiritual Dad."He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature, with both Urdu and Persian literary work.Iqbal was born in an ethnic Cashmiri family in Sialkot, British India (now Pakistan) Province of Punjab. His father was Kashmiri Pandit (of the Sapru clan) who converted to Islam. When the Sikh Empire invaded Kashmir in the 19th century, a family of his grandfather moved to Punjab. Iqbal also listed his Kashmiri lineage and commemorated it in his writings
